About the Author
Eric Carle is the creator of more than seventy picture books for young readers. Eric Carle was born in New York, USA. However, when he was just six, he moved with his parents to Germany. In 1952, after graduating from the prestigious Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Stuttgart, he fulfilled his dream of returning to New York.Eric Carle has received many distinguished awards and honours for his work, including, in 2003, the Laura Ingalls Wilder Award for his lifetime contribution to children's literature and illustration. In 2002, fifty years after Carle's return to the United States, The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art was opened in Amherst, Massachusetts. It’s our friend the grouchy ladybug again. Missed her. The little ones will get to visit some familiar animal characters in this book, each gleefully showing off their very distinctive traits in hopes of making the grouchy ladybug smile. Animals show hugs and kisses in charming, unusual ways, sometimes. Towards the end of the book we get to see a close-up and, yes…that’s definitely a grouchy face. But, this is an Eric Carle book, so the hugs and kisses are bound to be successful. Enjoy.
So cute and clever. Our nieces and nephews loved them for Valentine’s Day.

Just what I expected, great quality and fast service of delivery
If you're looking for copy-and-pasted art from other Eric Carle books haphazardly strung together into a tepid narrative, this is the book for you. All of the illustrations seem to be copied exactly from other books ("From Head to Toe", "Does a Kangaroo Have a Mother, Too?", and of course "The Grouchy Ladybug"), as seen in the uploaded images.Despite being an almost entirely derivative work, there is no mention of this in the book description. Don't be fooled.Has none of the charm of actual original works by Eric Carle, but worth purchasing if you want to help pay some executive salaries at Harper Collins.

Eric Carle’s signature collage illustrations are as engaging as ever making this an excellent choice for Valentine’s Day or all year long.My own cranky toddler adores this book and delights in blowing kisses to the grouchy ladybug in the end.
Eric Carle is a favorite in our house. I make sure my grandchildren have his books. My granddaughter loves the Grouchy Ladybug and can be a "Grouchy Ladybug" (aren't we all at some point?), so I love the message, even Grouchy Ladybugs deserve hugs and kisses. She recognized the Grouchy Ladybug on the cover, so was anxious to read it right away! I gave this to her for Christmas, but it would also be a cute Valentine's Day gift.
Good graphics, but very few words. Disappointed.
